Nice little review. It is a very nice laptop! I really like the top panel and the black honey comb. I do however, have a major dislike to windows 8. Where did you buy the laptop (direct from dell?) I also look forward to any other reviews! Very in depth. All the best,

Hi Ben! I did replace the processor, it originally had a Pentium T4300, and I got the Core 2 Duo T9300 from eBay. It’s hard work to upgrade the processor, you have to take apart pretty much everything. I followed the manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01740724.pdf. As for installing a lower power processor, you can only really go for one with a lower clock speed. (My C2D runs about 30c hotter under load than the Pentium did) So anything with a lower clockspeed will work, but make sure it has a 800MHz FSB otherwise the motherboard won’t like it. Try cleaning out the heatsink too. I’m guessing you have the Pentium T4300 too, mine ran at about 60c full load, and the battery was pretty bad.
